Funerals
Loss through death is one of the most devastating experiences. It is life changing. No one can replace the person we have lost, and the depth of our grief can feel insurmountable. A funeral is one part of the grieving path, and it is extremely important that it is a ceremony that is supportive and consoling. Saying goodbye does not happen on one day, or in one ceremony, but sharing loss with others on the day of the funeral is important. Remembering and honouring the person who has died and sharing this with family and friends in the way that is right for you and your loved ones is an important milestone in your grief.
As a celebrant I will support and guide you through the preparations for your loved one’s funeral. We will meet together so that I can get to know you and hear about the person who has died. I will design a service that is right for you and your family and which tells the story of the person you are remembering. You can incorporate poetry, readings or music and I am happy to advise or offer suggestions of suitable pieces. I can also support you if you would like to speak at the service or deliver the eulogy.
Please contact me to discuss your ideas and plans.
